PAY SCALE: £12.60/hour Real Living Wage

Worcester Snoezelen is a small charity which has a big impact. The charity aims to enhance mental health and wellbeing and bring happiness through offering specialist leisure therapy activities. This is a role which involves working with people with disabilities and additional needs of all ages, predominantly children and young people under-25.
We are looking for someone with flexibility over the days/times they work to meet the demand of our members (service users). We expect the Music Workshop Leader to work 8 hours on Saturdays (including half hour paid lunch break), Tuesday mornings and at least 6 hours between Monday to Friday, Tuesday afternoons to begin with. There is also the opportunity to include between 4.30 and 6.30pm alternate Mondays to help lead our Rock School for young adults. We also have music performances that take place outside of these hours that we would expect our music leader to be able to attend.
Holiday entitlement is pro rata of a full-time 23 days annual leave plus 8 English bank and public holidays. The centre is closed over the Easter bank holiday weekend and the week between Christmas and New Year.
You will work for a supportive organisation, gaining job satisfaction and doing something where you can make a real difference. Your work will be managed and supervised by the Senior Music Workshop Leader who you will report to directly.
The role is varied – ranging from one-to-one instrumental teaching, through to leading a group of up to 30 people to join in with percussion, and fun sing-alongs. It also involves supporting and taking part in public performances. Delivery of outreach to schools or care home may be required, as may delivery of sessions online with video conferencing. There is scope for the Music Workshop Leader to develop their practice and shape the role, and you will be expected to take part in on-the-job training. There may be opportunity to assist people to compose, record and publish their own music.
