Woman and baby in hydro pool

Our dedicated hydro pool

Designed specifically for purpose, our hydro pool has been created to provide new sensory experiences beyond those offered by our multisensory rooms. With plenty of health benefits, plus the addition of a waterfall and bubbly-water feature, our 2.5 x 3.5 metre pool is only 1 metre deep. With a consistent temperature of 36 degrees, it is a safe and unique space perfectly suited to the needs of many of our visitors. Underwater lighting and music are also included to encourage interaction and enjoyment, as well as movement and exercise.

Four people in a hydro pool

Designed for all visitors

Our hydro pool has been built to provide as inclusive an experience as possible for our visitors, both those with learning disabilities and those with physical disabilities, thanks to the inclusion of a hoist, elevating changing beds and stability rails. With a maximum of five people in the pool, it is the perfect size for a parent or carer to enjoy time spent in water without the overwhelm or stress of a typical swimming pool experience. Our changing rooms are also accessible, making for an enjoyable experience from start to finish.

A unique sensory experience unlike any other

With plenty of opportunities to enjoy the water, explore and experience the underwater lighting and music, our heated pool provides an experience many people with learning disabilities cannot experience elsewhere – as well as offering a safe and accessible place for those with physical disabilities. Our hydro pool can be used solo or as part of a wider sensory experience to suit the individual needs of our visitors.

Snoezey Seal Pups

Our Snoezey Seal Pups courses offer something very special for babies and small children. These inclusive swim courses are on Monday mornings and there are separate courses for four age groups: 3-6 months; 6-12 months; 1-2 years; and 2-3 years. Learn, play, sing, splash and make friends. The courses aim to increase confidence, safety in water, social and communication skills, as well as bringing enjoyment and physiological benefits. There are lesson plans and individual progress charts for those attending each 6-week course. All are led by our qualified STA Swimming Instructor for People with Disabilities who also has an STA Award in Aquatic Teaching – Baby & Pre-school. Places are limited and booking essential.
